Message Regarding Camp SPARC! 2017

After careful and prayerful consideration, we have decided to cancel Camp SPARC for summer 2017.  We are doing this because we want to have the best camp experience possible for our children, and feel that our standards for Camp for the summer of 2017 would be compromised at this time due to the unexpected resignation of our director Martika Harris.   This resignation left us director-less during the crucial time we should have been designing and launching Camp SPARC 2017.

This decision to cancel Camp this year gives us the opportunity to evaluate our programs, re-assess our goals, redefine our mission, and create a new vision for a quality camp.  To that end, please contact the pastor to share your thoughts.

Thank you to all the parents who endured a less than stellar registration process for basketball this year and the subsequent problems with organization, scheduling and referees.  We are sorry for any difficulty you may have experienced. We hope that your children had a good time in basketball this season despite the problems.  We deeply appreciate the dedication of the coaches who worked so hard for their teams.

We appreciate your support and hope that you will bear with us as we refine and develop our vision for  Camp for the summer of 2018 and basketball for 2017-18 season.

Thank you,

Ellen Hopkins, Pastor St. Paul UMC,

Sherri Scott, Interim Basketball Director

Bill Ericson, Church Council Chair
